Get in the groove

What it is November? How did that happen? Our school year is moving right along. I think we have finally found our groove and in a few short weeks we will break for Christmas. Starting the groove finding process all over again in January. But isn't that what life is all about just when you think you've got it figured out everything changes and you have to figure it out all over again. I think it is God's way of reminding us to depend on him. I am working on learning to enjoy the groove finding process since it seems I am always in it and to take comfort in knowing the only way I can find my groove is by fully depending on God.
Here are some pictures of our last month on our groove finding journey.

Leandra turns 11

How is it possible for me to have an 11 year old? I am only 25..wink wink. It is strange how much Leandra turning 11 has effected me. I feel as if I am on a count down of the time I have left to prepare her for life and share family experiences with her. The time has gone so fast between the first time I held her in my arms to now that is scares me how fast these next 8 to 10 years will go.  I pray that I won't loose focus on what is important and I can make each day count.

As for celebrating Leandra birthday we are turning her kidish bedroom in to a cool tween/teen hangout! The makeover has become quite the project and we are in phase 2 of 4.

She took cupcakes to choir/drama and volleyball practice to celebrate with her friends.

Airplanes and Outer Space

                     Outer Space
Last week we had a blast studying Outer  Space with our Science buddies the Hill's. We examined the nucleus of a comet, made our very own comets, galaxy dough and witnessed the effects of a meteorite. I am so thankful I get to teach all about outer space from a biblical perspective. I love my Answers in Genesis Science Curriculum. I am awe struck by the magnificence of our Creator as we learn about God's Design for Heaven and Earth.

                          Airplanes
Also we started our book study on the Childhood of The Wright Brothers. The girls had a great time designing and flying their own airplane. Leandra name her airplane Leandra's Flyway. Jesslyn named hers The Rainbow Jet. Leandra's plane got stuck in the tree and they had to use the broom to get it out. Jesslyn's plane preformed an amazing loop to loop trick and then land smoothly on the grass.
